Our loving mother, Helen Potvin May, age 90, a longtime Moosup resident died on March 15, 2026 in Brooklyn CT, leaving a void that cannot be filled. She had been a resident of Pierce Memorial Baptist Home.

She was born on June 18, 1935, in Oneco, CT the daughter of the late Manuel Silva and Eva Bellavance Silva. She was predeceased by husbands Raymond Potvin (1957-1991) and Oliver May (2001-2016).

Helen was a 1953 graduate of Plainfield High School and retired from the business office at Day Kimball Hospital.

She is survived by her children, James Potvin (LeeAnn) of Coventry, RI, Nancy Potvin of Manchester, CT, and step-daughter, Kathy Gallany of Charlton, MA.

We extend a special thanks to the staff at the Pierce Memorial Baptist Home for the care and kindness in caring for Helen.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Helen's family from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Dougherty Brothers Funeral Home, 595 Norwich Rd, Plainfield, CT. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Burial to follow in All Hallows Cemetery, Moosup, CT.
