Clare Vivial Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 1, 2025.
Clare P. Vivial, 86 of Folcroft passed away Wednesday May 7, 2025 at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media.
She was born October 27, 1938 in Philadelphia to the late Michael & Mary (Andrasko) Gavula.
Clare attended Hallahan High School where she was a Blue Ribbon Girl and later class president. She was married to the love of her life, Pat, for 60 years until his passing in 2017. Clare was vice-president at Sho-Aids, Inc. where she worked for over thirty years. When she wasn't working, she and Pat could be found at the Atlantic City Casinos enjoying a day trip of slots, food and fun.
Clare had many gifts that she shared throughout her life's journey. She was a wonderful seamstress who could sew or repair anything, all while weaving threads of love into every item she touched. Her creativity and problem solving was unparalleled, and she was never intimidated by any problem or challenge. She was a coach and volunteer in the Folcroft Girls Club, always helping others whether mending a cheer costume or raking a field before a game. Clare loved her community and always gave more of herself than she asked of others.
Clare was a lifelong learner who was never content to just sit and rest, and she shared her knowledge and wisdom with all who could use a boost.
She will be remembered for her family group texts and personal birthday poems which were filled with love for her family. A trademark which will be hard to surpass. She truly made you feel special with her wit and rhymes.
While Clare had many talents, her greatest gift was her faith and devotion to the Blessed Mother, Mary. She was not shy about voicing her love and trust in God. She drew her incredible strength and wisdom from her faith and was constantly praying for those close to her as well as strangers - And once you made her prayer list, you were never removed! She loved everyone, judged no one, saw the good in all, and taught us how to forgive. Her only request was to remember to say a Hail Mary.
While we will miss her dearly, she will never be far as her threads of faith, love and wisdom are woven through all of us.
In addition to her parents, Clare was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Pat" Vivial and sons, Jimmy & Bobby Vivial.
Survivors include her children, Karen (Stephen) Warrington, Patti (Tom) Wennerberg and Michael Vivial. Also survived by her nine grandchildren & eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to: St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Norwood, PA
Family and friends are invited to attend Clare's visitation on Tuesday May 13th from 10 to 11 am at The Church of St. Gabriel, 233 Mohawk Ave., Norwood. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 am. Interment, Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
