Clarence Frances Cadreau

On February 17, 2024, Clarence "Bouncer" Cadreau went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born in St Jacques, MI on July 15, 1940, to his parents Wilfred Cadreau and Rose Shawano.
Clarence was an Elder Member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
Clarence had one brother James Cadreau, now deceased, and many half brothers and sisters from Sugar Island and Detroit.
Clarence is survived by his wife Christine Cadreau of Sault Ste. Marie, and two beloved daughters Amber Nelson of Grand Rapids, MI and Lindsay (significant other, Matthew Bachorski) Cadreau of Yale, MI. Also, by several sons, Cheyenne (Krystal) Cadreau of the Sault, Paul (Lois) Cadreau of Kincheloe, Jerry (Laura) Cadreau of Linden, MI and Robert (Renee) Cadreau of Yale, MI. And two stepchildren Rex Marsh of Arizona and Joanie Parks of Virginia.
Clarence has many loved grandchildren including Tucker and Remi Bachorski. Emma, Jenna, Kendra, and Layla Nelson. Gavin Cadreau, Amanda Cadreau, Rob and Michael Cadreau, and Cassey Cadreau. Also, Lisa and Angie Cadreau, and River Benson-Cadreau. Also, many great grandchildren.
Clarence worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers at the Soo Locks, and he worked as a steeple jack painter on the Mackinac Bridge and worked at General Motors in the Detroit area. Clarence was also a Vietnam Era Veteran in the US Navy sailing on the Aircraft Carrier the US Forrestall out of Norfolk, Virginia. We acknowledge his special Nephew Allen Cadreau from California and Bouncer's lifelong friend and co-worker John "Muggo" Nolan of the Sault.
The wake and funeral will be February 22nd-24th, Thursday-Saturday at the Niigaanaagiizhik Cultural Center on the Reservation. With the visitation beginning on Thursday at noon. Prayers and sharing, with a light meal on Friday beginning at 5:00 pm And the main funeral will be at 11:00 Saturday morning. With a feast to follow.
Burial will take place in May at Riverside Cemetery. As submitted by family.
