Clarence Otis Cherry was born to Daniel Cherry and Eliza Jane Frye Cherry on May 11, 1938, in Carthage, NC and was the last to remain from a family of 14 children (7 boys and 7 girls). He attended Pinkney High School in Carthage, NC.
Clarence was married to Mary Lois Cherry (deceased December 21, 2021) for 63 years.
Clarence worked as a plumber for almost 60 years until he retired. He was a hard-worker and provided well for his Family. He will be remembered as someone who had an adventurous soul, was head-strong, tough, and ambitious. Clarence lived hard, worked hard, played hard, and fought hard until his passing. As he rests in peace, he will be missed.
He is survived by children, Sharon Byrd, Michael Cherry, Ray Cherry, Charles Eric Cherry, and Nicholas Spezzano-Cherry, 7 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by in-laws, Nathan and Shirley Wright, Ronnie and Almarie Chalmers, and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Clarence was our good friend and neighbor on 5th St in Stamford from 1975-1983. He was great guy, a great friend and as funny as anyone Michelle and I ever met. Even though we haven't seen each other in years, we often spoke of him and our fun times together, RIP my friend.
