Clarence Dumstorff

LIMA -- Clarence "Clay" G. Dumstorff, 92, Lima, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion to his faith, his country and above all the family he cherished.

Born on April 13, 1933 in Lebanon, IL, Clay was the son of Bernard G. Dumstorff and Josephine (Woltering) Dumstorff. Clay grew up on a small dairy farm and often reminisced about memories of working side by side with his ten siblings. Those early years, filled with both hard work and joy, shaped who he was and remained some of the happiest times of his life.

He was a man of many passions, he loved to follow the stock market, travel, fish, play board games, cards and puzzles - often surrounded by love ones and the sound of laughter. Family was the heart of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them, whether on fishing trips, family vacation, or simply walks around the neighborhood with his beloved dog Ginger.

Clay proudly served his country in the US Air Force, enlisting in 1953. His service took him to Tripoli, Africa and later to Oklahoma City, where he met the love of his life Faith. Together they built a life rooted in love and purpose.

After earning a degree in electrical engineering from Oklahoma State University, Clay began a distinguished career at Westinghouse, where he contributed to the historic Apollo space program. He later joined Ford Motor Company, dedicating 24 years of Service before retiring in 1995.

A devout Catholic, Clay found great strength and comfort in his faith throughout his life.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Faith G. (Murphy) and his parents Bernard and Josepine Dumstorff, his siblings Genevieve & Robert Jung, Bernice and Floyd Heilmann, Dorothy & James Davis, Dennis & Darlene Dumstorff, Florence Dumstorff, Richard Dumstorff, Gerald Dumstorff.

He is survived by his loving children Clayton & Michele Dumstorff, Linda Dumstorff, Diane Dumstorff, Mike and Diane Dumstorff, Karen Dumstorff. His cherished grandchildren Nathan & Mackenzie Dumstorff, Brooke Dumstorff, Jacob Kummer, Katie Kummer, Maxwell Dumstorff, Emily Dumstorff, Claire Dumstorff, Michael Dumstorff, Anna Dumstorff. Most of all his adored great-granddaughter Genevieve Dumstorff. Siblings Orville Dumstorff and Eileen Coooper.

Clay will be remembered for his quiet strength, sharp mind, love of adventure, and unwavering dedication to those he held dear. His memory will live on in hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd., Lima, OH 45805, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be at St. Rose's Catholic Church, 222 S. West St, Lima, OH, 45801, at 10:30 am on Friday, May 30, 2025.
