Clarence Fisher Obituary

Clarence W. Fisher, Jr. of Earlysville, Va died at his home in Earlysville, Va on December 17, 2025. He was born February 9, 1942 in Elkton, Va and was the son of the late Clarence W. Fisher, Sr. and Helen (Hitt) Fisher.
Clarence is survived by his partner, Rebecca E. Steele of Earlysville, Va and his son, Barry Preston Fisher of Waynesboro, Va.
He was a 1960 graduate of Elkton High School where he was very involved in school sports; including track, basketball and football. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany. Clarence worked for State Farm Insurance Companies for 42 years prior to retiring.
Following retirement, Clarence engaged in enjoying the outdoors that he loved, spending many days at his cottage in Colonial Beach, Va boating, fishing and crabbing. He also enjoyed canoeing, snow skiing and more. His snow skiing trips were from the east to the west coast and to Austria and Germany with his two favorite resorts being Deer Valley and Park City, Utah.
Clarence became a self-taught artisan working with sheet metal and copper; creating wind sculptures and metallic art that was marketed at art and craft shows.
A Graveside Service will be conducted 1 p.m., Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Elk Run Cemetery in Elkton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Elkton Presbyterian Church, 104 Ashby Ave., Elkton, Virginia 22827 or Charlottesville Albemarle SPCA, 3355 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, Va 22901.

Clarence was a great guy. He was one of the first people I met when I joined State Farm. He will be missed by all who knew him.
