Deacon Clarence Odis Hendricks was born April 3, 1933, in Pflugerville, Texas, to the late Benjamin Hendricks and Carrie Jamison Hendricks.

Clarence attended Austin Public Schools. He acknowledged his faith in Christ and was baptized at an early age. He moved to the St. John Community at 10 years old and joined the St. John College Heights Baptist Church. He served diligently for over 80 years at College Heights until his death.

Clarence served in the U.S. Military 81st Airborne as a paratrooper during the Korean War conflict. He later worked and retired from the Austin Independent School District as a mail clerk.

On January 31, 1956, he married Ruthie Clark, and to this union, 2 sons, Ray and Carl, were born.

Clarence was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ruthie Clark Hendricks; his parents, Benjamin Hendricks and Carrie Jamison Hendricks; all his brothers and sisters, Leroy (Sunny), Benjamin (BJ), Emmit, Lawrence (Smokey), Billy, Jessie, Ruby, Jean, James (Jim), and daughter-in-law, Sandra Johnson Hendricks.

Clarence's legacy will continue on through his sons, Rev. Ray Hendricks (Shirley) and Carl Hendricks (Wanda), grandsons Darrick Hendricks, Joshua Hendricks, Jordan Hendricks, and Jon Paul Hendricks; granddaughters Deandrea Blades (Robert), Desirae Patterson (Chauncey), Joyce Hendricks and JoWanda Hendricks, Natasha King (Vashon); great-grandchildren Alaijah, Darriah, Jaylen, Starlette, Jornae, Journee, Heaven, Jasinya, JoRiah, Rocco, Jayce, Romeo, Berkley, and Capri; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and family members.
