Clarence David Hunter Sr, 71, of Old Hickory, passed away October 16, 2025.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Isaac Norris Hunter Jr and Mary Elizabeth Hunter, sister: Sandra Ann Ryman and his brother: Robert Norris Hunter; step-brother: Fate Eugene Frenzley, step-sister: June Shirley Greer.

He is survived by his life-partner: Norma Jean Ladd, brother: James "Jimmy" Phillip Hunter, daughter: Cathrine "Cat" Danice Thomas (Michael), and son: Clarence "PJ" David Hunter Jr (Ashley); Step-son: Jeffrey Jackson; grandchildren: Alaina Hunter, Taylor Buttram, Kylie Hunter, Ethan Hunter, Noah Buttram, Seth Hunter, Brianna Colson (Will), and Chase Thomas;

step-grandchildren: Nicholas Jackson and Naveah Jackson; great-grandchild: Crimson Thomas; step-grandchild: Cooper Jackson.

Clarence was born January 7, 1954. He graduated from McGavock High School in 1972. Clarence, who actually went by the name of Pete - a nickname given to him by his dad - worked his entire life in the HVAC and construction industry, where he was extremely knowledgeable with piping, sheet metal, and reading blueprints. He had a huge love of NASCAR racing, and would go to many races all over the U.S.; his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt #3, and throughout his lifetime he collected many Dale Earnhardt #3 memorabilia!

Pete was known as a kind and charming man, and was cherished by many at his senior living community, where he would repair, fix, and "MacGyver" anything from radios to lights and chairs to Hoverrounds. He loved listening to music, whether on CD, YouTube, or his favorite -in-person (live)! He would often listen to Joe Bonamassa and greatly desired to see him play live.

Pete also enjoyed old western shows along with going hunting and camping in his younger days. He knew and loved his Lord Jesus; he would often read his Bible and on occasion would have discussions with his children, whom he loved deeply, over God and His Word.

Pete always tried to help anyone if and when he could. Clarence "Pete" Hunter will be greatly missed.
