Clarence Jones Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ware Funeral Home - Cynthiana from Feb. 13 to Feb. 19, 2026.
Clarence William Jones unexpectedly but peacefully passed from this world on February 12, 2026.

He loved his family, and was proud of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed hearing what they were doing, what they were learning, and what they were interested in during any visits.

He was a baptized believer of our Lord Jesus Christ and served as a deacon and elder at Indian Creek Christian Church. He loved farming, fishing, watching the Cincinnati Reds play (he rarely missed a game) and Bluegrass music, attending many festivals over the years. He enjoyed and played sports, from his youth well into his later years. Whether it was church league softball or pickup basketball at city hall with the crew from Webbers Sausage where he worked for many years. One of the things he enjoyed maybe most of all was the 27 plus years coaching little league baseball. Nearly anywhere he went in Cynthiana he was sure to be greeted by someone he coached. Much of Clarence's outlook on life and how he treated people was the influence of his grandmother, Ella Jones that he lived with after his grandfather's death when he was a teenager.

Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Louise Jones, and his younger brother, Louis "Buddy" Jones.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marcella Jones; his sons, Jeffrey

(Helen) Jones, and Greg (Laura) Jones. Grandchildren, Matthew Louis (Lauren) Jones, Spencer Six (Lindsay) Jones, Cameran (Jordan) Downs, and Austin Jones. Great grandchildren, Jackson Louis Jones, Baylee Elizabeth Jones, Carter Six Jones, and Weston Michael Jones. Also surviving is his sister-in-law, Wanda Jones.

A memorial service will be held at Indian Creek Christian Church on Tuesday February 17th, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.

The grandchildren and great grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators, 1317 US-62, Cynthiana, KY 41031; or Indian Creek Christian Church General Fund, 51 Waits Rd, Cynthiana, KY 41031. View and sign the guest book www.warefuneralhome.com.
