Clarence Kindt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McWilliams Funeral Home - Alpena on Oct. 1, 2025.
Clarence A. Kindt, a devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 22, 2025, at the age of 86.
Born on October 14, 1938, to Ralph and Meta Kindt, Clarence was the embodiment of a life well-lived. He was a loving brother to Arnold, Louis (Linda), and Hilda Marsh, and was preceded in death by his siblings Ervin, Walter, Adeline, Leona (William) Kaschner, Florence (Henry) Timmreck, sister-in-law Irma, and brother-in-law Homer Marsh. Clarence's legacy is carried on through his beloved wife of 62 years, Sandra, their children Steven (Lisa) and Karen (Mark) Cordes, and his adored grandchildren Nathan (Hilary), Kimberly (Tom), Luke (Maddie), and Olivia (Brandon). His great-grandchildren Katherine, Zachariah, Matthew, Allison, Lilah, Irvin, and Mallory, along with three more on the way, will grow up hearing tales of their great-grandfather's love and wisdom.
Clarence's life was marked by his unwavering commitment to his family, his faith, and his community. He married the love of his life, Sandra, on August 10, 1963, and together they built a family foundation strong enough to span generations. A man of many interests, Clarence was an avid outdoorsman who found solace in hunting and fishing. He was a regular at the Ponderosa Hunt Club and a lifetime member of the NRA. His dedication to the New Life Lutheran Church was evident in his joyful participation in the choir, and his faith was a guiding light throughout his life.
Known for his thoughtful nature and handy skills, Clarence could often be found reading, a hobby that reflected his love for continuous learning and growth. He was also a passionate advocate for Wounded Warriors, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His love for dancing was infectious, and he could often be seen twirling Sandra around the dance floor, much to the delight of their family and friends. Clarence's life was a testament to the values of devotion, kindness, and service, which he upheld until his last breath.
A celebration of Clarence's life will be held Saturday, October 18, 2025, from 10AM until the time of memorial service at 11AM with Rev. Dan Stoneback officiating. Memorial donations can be made to New Life Luteran Church of Alcona County. McWilliams Funeral Home has assisted the family with arrangements. Clarie was a good friend since our days at the old Trinity Lutheran Church in the 50's and throughout our Alpena High years. I treasure the times my wife and I stopped in at River Road in our passing through Ossineke, and I'm so glad that we made another stop just 3 months ago. My fondest memory of Clarie comes from a day in Vacation Bible School at Trinity, when we enacted the Parable of the Prodigal Son. Clarie was the generous dad and I was the demanding son who headed out to unpleasant experiences. When I came to my senses and hurried back to home, there was my dad, hurrying to hug me and welcome me back home. Clarie's obituary tells me that he showed those same kindness over and over again to his family. God love him and give you all God's abundant mercies!
