Clarence was born on November 19, 1956, to Clarence Lee, Sr. and Earnia Mae Kirk, in Pachuta, Mississippi. He was the fourth of nine children. With his fun-loving personality, loyal disposition and ever-present smile, Clarence brought joy, happiness, and laughter to all he met.
At the age of seven, Clarence's parents relocated their family from Pachuta, Mississippi to Brockton, Ma. Clarence graduated from Brockton High School in 1975. Clarence was a key player on the basketball team at Brockton High School where he garnered an MVP Award and was often featured in the local newspapers, along with his coaches and teammates. Upon graduation, he attended Massasoit Community College. At the age of twenty-two, a close friend; Rev. Wesley McLaughlin started calling Clarence "CK" and that would forever be the name his family and friends would call him. In recent years, Clarence worked as a truck driver for R & L Carriers, which complimented his love of driving while working alongside his younger brother Michael Kirk, Sr.
On June 7,1980, Clarence married Leeanna Washington (Jackson) and to their union they were blessed with two beautiful children-Gregory Bernard and Kristin Courtney. Though their marriage dissolved, Clarence and Leeanna remained friends and worked harmoniously in their blended family to ensure their children were loved and cared for.
There were many loves in Clarence's life, including his dog "Tut," sports, cooking-especially thanksgiving dinner where he showcased his sweet potato pies and made sure everyone he cared about received one-he loved spending time back home in Brockton with his mom, family, friends and making sure he attended the yearly Brockton Picnic in the Park. Most of all, Clarence loved his son, daughter, daughter-in-law Aries and cherished his granddaughters Brave Lyna and Wish Lola with everything he had. He made sure they had everything they needed and started the tradition of being their Santa for Christmas in 2020.
Clarence leaves to mourn his two children – Gregory Bernard (Aries) and Kristin Courtney of Atlanta, GA; his granddaughters – Brave Lyna and Wish Lola; mother – Earnia Kirk of Brockton, MA; two brothers – Michael Kirk, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Warren Kirk of Brockton, MA; four sisters – Carlee Goldsboro-Tyler, Denise Kirk, Sandra Kirk all of Brockton, MA, Sheila Rollins (Clayton) of Atlanta, GA; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and many friends. Clarence was preceded in death by his father-Clarence L. Kirk, Sr; brother – Samuel Jordan; and sister –Vermer Pina.
