Clarence Moore Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Whiting's Funeral Home - Williamsburg on Dec. 1, 2025.
Clarence Moore, 71, of Newport News, VA, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Sr. and Gladys Moore, and his sister Audrey Moore. Clarence, the third of seven children, was born on April 4, 1954, in Newport News, VA.

At the age of 17, he became an assistant manager at the local drug store and purchased his first vehicle. He graduated from Menchville High School in 1972 and received a full scholarship after being in the DECA Club. In October of that year, he enlisted in the United States NAVY, serving actively from 1972-1974. He received a National Defense Medal after his involvement in the Vietnam War; he went on to the NAVY Reserves until May of 1978.

Clarence later found the Lord and attended God's Tent of Meeting Church in Norfolk, VA. He was a devoted member and served as an usher under Pastor and First Lady Hunter.

Clarence enjoyed life; to know him was to love him. He loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included traveling, music, painting, creating ceramic and string art, and helping anyone however he could. Clarence had a love for cars, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.

He leaves to cherish his memories two children, a daughter, Kubreau Moore (John) of Newport News, VA and a son Jermaine Hobbs (Gina) of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Charmaine, Makaylah, Ethan, and Aydan; two great-grandchildren, Kemari and Akairo; five siblings, Sylvia Moore, William Moore, Verrise Wooten, John Moore (Ella) and Raymond Moore Jr.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.

"And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus" Phillipians 4: 7
