Clarence Ray Pontruff, a beloved husband, father and brother, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2025, in Carrollton, Texas, at the age of 77. Born on January 9, 1948, in Rockdale, Texas, Clarence was a quiet man whose feelings ran deep. His gentle demeanor and thoughtful presence touched the lives of all who knew him.
Throughout his life, Clarence was surrounded by the love of his family, who were his greatest treasures. He married his "teenage bride," Brenda Estelle Pontruff, on January 30, 1968. Their enduring partnership brought joy and strength to their family. Together, they raised their daughter, Christy Naugle, who, along with her husband Ken, has carried forward Clarence's legacy of love and warmth.
Clarence was one of five siblings and is survived by his sister, Anna Templin of Cameron, Texas. He is preceded in death by his beloved brother Bennie Pontruff who was his best friend in life.
Clarence enjoyed reading and watching movies, a passion he shared with his daughter. One of her favorite memories was the day he took her to see the first Star Wars movie in Sugarland, Texas and as an adult, she enjoyed finding and sharing science fiction movies with him.
A graveside service honoring Clarence will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Liberty Community Cemetery in Cameron, Texas. The service will begin at 1:00 PM with Rev. Gene Van Noord officiating. Those who knew Clarence are invited to join in remembering a life well-lived marked by kindness and love.
