Clarence Joseph Tabar

Clarence Joseph Tabar, born on May 30, 1942, in Romeo, Michigan to Max and Eldora Tabar, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025.
Clarence was a devoted husband to his wife of 56 years, Deanna, and a proud father to his two sons, Dan (Kristen) and Mark (Marie). He cherished his role as a grandfather to Andrea, Danielle, Natalie, Samuel, Yakobe, Abigail, Katelyn, Thomas, Emily, and Nathan.
For 45 years, Clarence inspired countless students as a dedicated math and computer teacher in Bloomfield Hills and Troy. Beyond the classroom, he was a beloved figure in the community as the voice of Troy Athens Athletics. His passion for education extended beyond borders; he found great joy in traveling to China to teach English and share his love of learning with others. He found enjoyment in travels to numerous countries, including pilgrimages with Manresa retreat house.
Clarence is survived by his brothers Ray and Ron, who shared a special bond with him throughout their lives. He was preceded in death by his brothers Melvin and Charles.
Clarence's legacy lives on through the many lives he touched as an educator and mentor. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
Family will receive friends Friday 3-8pm, with Sharing of Memories 6pm and Rosary service 7pm, at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd (btw Maple & Big Beaver), Troy, 248-362-2500. Funeral mass Saturday 10am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 280 E. Square Lake Rd, Troy. Visitation at church begins 9:30am.
