Clarence Tew Obituary
Clarence was born on September 8, 1935 to the late James Norwood Tew, Sr. and Esther Caroline Bulla Tew in Sampson County, NC. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Lois Tew Croom, James Earl Tew, Lawrence Edward Tew, John Jefferson Tew.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Janie Parsley Tew; children, Dean Tew (Gina), Michelle Howard (David), Terry Ross (Kelly) and Lisa Ross Skipper (Curt); grandchildren, Savannah, Danielle, Robert, Kaitlyn and Halie; great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Charlotte, Leighton and Parker; siblings, Evelyn Tew Lashley, Bonnie Ann Woods, Barbara Hurley and James Norwood Tew, Jr. Though the family's hearts are broken, there is peace in knowing he is whole again.
Besides being an amazing father, grandfather and great grandfather, Clarence was a man of faith and is now enjoying and resting in the glory of Heaven with those who passed before him. He was a member of Cedar Falls Baptist Church in Fayetteville, serving in many different capacities over the years. He was always eager to share the gospel of Jesus, and the only thing he truly wanted in this life was for Heaven to be crowded with his family, friends and strangers alike. Clarence was also a businessman and faithfully served the Fayetteville and surrounding communities for over 40 years after owning and operating Tew Tile and Carpet Company. He quickly became a leader in the Fayetteville business community and was respected for his gentle spirit and unwavering dedication to those he met along the way. Some would say that he never met a stranger and could tell a great story.
Clarence will be missed incredibly by those who knew him. A few days before his passing, he told his family that he was eager and happy to meet Jesus- and now he has.
The family invites you to celebrate Clarence's life on Monday, December 1, 2025 at Cedar Falls Baptist Church with a visitation beginning at 1:00pm and a service honoring his faith beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will immediately follow the service at LaFayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street in Fayetteville. Services entrusted to Adcock Funeral Home and Crematory, Spring Lake.

no better an uncle , always full of humor , will be missed , last time me ,martha jane [tew] wrench , my dad , clearence , we went to the house he was born in , behind the cotton jin off hwy 13 , still there

In a few words, how do I express the gratitude I have for this wonderful man. When my intellectually disabled brother had surgery for prostate cancer, Clarence and Dean visited him, took him to a movie and more. Tor no reason other than their own humanity, they lifted his spirits and gave my mother a break. At Alan´s 65 th birthday party, Clarence showed up with his usual good humor and kindness. Dean brought his lovely daughters . Yet again the Tews showed their true spirit.
I am grateful to have known Clarence for most of my life. I am fortunate that my family has been encircled in his sphere of kindness.
My heart goes out to his friends and family.
