Mr. Ellis Van Tew, 88, of Salemburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 31, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Union Grove Baptist Church Gazebo with Reverend Shawn Berryhill and Reverend Allen West officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 4, 2025 after the service in the church fellowship hall.
Ellis was born in Sampson County on September 17, 1937. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Tew; and his son Lewis Tew. He was the owner of Ellis Tew and Charles Barber Septic Tank Service.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa Barber and husband Charles; a granddaughter, Emily Best and husband Jake; two great granddaughters, Edie and Ellis Best; and one sister Jeanette Cashwell.
