The Celebration of Life for
Clarence Walker Jr.
Clarence Walker Jr. was born November 30, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Rosetta Glanton Walker and Clarence Walker Sr. Clarence 65, made his transition on Monday, June 24, 2024. He was affectionately called "Jr" to some and "Jughead" to others.
Clarence attended Joseph E. Brown High School and was a proud graduate of the 1976 class. As an entrepreneur for most of his career, his expertise included a wide range of carpentry and construction projects–a true jack of all trades. By his own words, his most important job in life was being a "Loving Father" to his children and "Papa" to his grandchildren. As an active member of Hunter Hill Baptist Church, he sang in the choir, served in the kitchen and served on the property/grounds team. The simplest pleasures in life brought him so much joy. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and sports fan, he enjoyed traveling with his family, and teaching the importance of building generational wealth. Clarence was a friend to everyone and never met a stranger. He embodied the true spirit of friendship and community, often spreading laughter and joy wherever he went. His zest for life was contagious, inspiring others to live life to the fullest. Clarence treasured the bonds of family, the power of faith, and the privilege of helping and motivating others.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Monica Walker; daughter Clarissa Wesley (Rudy) and son Corey Walker; granddaughters Nylah Wesley and Sariah Wesley; siblings JoAnn Parks (Robert), Patricia McFadden (Harrington), Brenda Earley (Maynard), Jerome Slaughter, Roderick Slaughter, Michael Slaughter, Betty Slaughter, Robert Slaughter, Charles Carter, Regina Carter, Ardonley Walker (Valerie), Debra Walker, Terry Walker, Vernell Walker, Jorge Walker (Kathy), Brandon Walker, Cora Faulkner (Marcus) and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, Rosetta Glanton Slaughter, Clarence Walker Sr. and siblings: Ricky Glanton, Rodney Slaughter, and Bobby Slaughter.
Although Clarence is no longer here with us, his spirit will forever guide and protect us all. May he find peace in the embrace of God's loving arms and loved ones who have gone on before him.
Clarence will live on through the countless lives he has touched. He truly will be missed. His memory, love and larger than life personality will forever be etched in our hearts.
