Clarence Williams was born on January 24, 1929 in Burnside Accension Parish to Jessie and Mandora (Gilyard) Williams. In 1947, Clarence joined the Army and served at multiple locations until transferred to Fort Bliss where he served until his retirement in 1969. Once in retirement, he was able to relax, enjoy family and watch all of his sports.
In 1947 he married Lucinda Irvin and together they had 4 sons. In 2012 Clarence married Hazel Veal where they continued to reside in El Paso.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; Brothers: Jessie and Mervin; and Sisters: Ruby, Rosemary, Nellie, Carrie, and Dora.
Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 10 years; his sons Clarence (Jeanette) Williams Jr., Clifford (Celestine) Williams, Dwight (Anna) Williams, James (Cindy) Williams; his step-sons Johnny (Val) Green, Mark Green, Tracy (Le’ Tanya) Mitchell, Irvin Porter, Michael Mitchell; his step-daughters Mary Ann (Richard) Camacho, and Pamela Bernard; 28 Grandchildren, 14 Great-Grandchildren, and 6 Great-Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, loved ones and friends who will mourn his passing.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. A Funeral Service will begin at 12:00pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service to follow at 2:00pm on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, with Full Military Honors. (West Shelter)
