Clarence Frank Williams, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 85.
Frank was born on February 16, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Clarence and Joey Williams. He spent his early years growing up in Hunter, Utah, and graduated from Cyprus High School.
On March 17, 1961, Frank married his love, Karilyn Veater, in the Salt Lake City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Karilyn preceded him in death.
Frank's pursuit of knowledge led him to higher education, where he developed an appreciation for the natural world. He earned both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Horticulture from Utah State University (USU). He continued his academic journey at Oregon State University (OSU), where he achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Horticulture.
Upon graduating from OSU, Frank and his family relocated to Provo, Utah, where he accepted a position as a Professor of Agronomy and Horticulture at Brigham Young University (BYU). He faithfully served and inspired students at BYU for 35 years until his retirement.
Frank cherished the outdoors and spent countless hours there with his family and friends. He was an avid adventurer who enjoyed camping, four-wheeling, boating, hiking, shooting, and taking scenic drives
In his quieter moments, Frank enjoyed reading, watching British comedies, and engaging in lively conversations with those he loved. While his happy nature and love for the world around him will be profoundly missed, he is now enjoying a reunion with his wife, son, parents, and extended family on the other side.
Frank is survived by three of his four children, fourteen devoted grandchildren, and two precious great-grandchildren.
