Clarice Adeline Nordstrom was born on October 30, 1930, in Roberts County, South Dakota, to Clarence A. and Frieda A. (Wolff) Nordstrom. Clarice attended three country schools and Sisseton Township School through the 8th grade. She graduated from Sisseton High School in 1948. After high school, Clarice worked at Landsberger Creamery as a bookkeeper. Clarice was united in marriage to Reynold Arbach on
January 25, 1950. They lived on her parents' farm where they milked cows and farmed. In 1960 they purchased the farm from her mother. They made their home there until 1998 when they moved into Sisseton. Clarice worked part-time for the ASCS Office. She loved sewing and crafts, making many quilts for her family. Clarice was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the LWML. Music was her love she served as the church organist at Emanuel for 80 years, using her gift of music to play for countless funerals and weddings and any other services where needed. Her playing was much beloved by the members and pastors at Emanuel. Having grandchildren come and stay in the summer and enjoying the family gatherings at their house at Christmas were her greatest joys.
Clarice is survived by her children: Roger (Joyce) Arbach of Sioux Falls, SD, Tamera Gramstad of New Ulm, MN, Steven (Carol) Arbach of Madison, SD, Michele (Jeff) Curren of Georgetown, TX; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters: Carol Keekley of Benbrook, TX, and Darlene Peters of Alamo, TX; and many special nieces and nephews.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence A. and Frieda A. (Wolff) Nordstrom, and husband, Reynold Arbach; brother-in-laws, Jon Keekley and Leo Peters.
