Clarice King

Clarice L. King, age 89 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 surrounded by her family at Meadow Place Assisted Living in Long Prairie, Minnesota. Clarice courageously fought the confusion associated with dementia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 17 at the Church of St. Pius X in Rochester with Rev. Russell Scepaniak officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Rochester.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church.

Clarice LaVonne Hueman was born June 22, 1934 in Taopi, Minnesota to Bill and Ruby (Anderson) Hueman.  Clarice married Herman King on May 18, 1957. Clarice spent her married life in Rochester where she and her husband, Herman raised their family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were most precious to her. Clarice loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her children, Brad King of Rochester, Dave King (Lynda Larson) of Minnetonka, and Julie (Roger) Janak of Grey Eagle; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, LaVonne Landherr of Adams; and brother, Bob (Mary) Hueman of Surprise, Arizona.

Clarice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herman King on September 14, 2006; sons, Kevin, Mark, and Dan King; granddaughter, Kaitlyn King; brother and sisters, LaDonna Hueman, Richard (Linda) Hueman, and Louise Monson.
