Clarice Elisabeth "Penny" Payne

Clarice Elisabeth Payne aka Penny, passed away November 11,2025 at her home in Bakersfield, CA. She was born on May 26,1944 in Bakersfield, CA to Reno and Ollie Shaddon.
Penny grew up in Bakersfield, CA. She attended Arvin High School. After high school she was an amazing mother to two beautiful children and later went back to get her high school diploma. She then attended BC where she got her degree in nutrition. Penny worked for Panama Buenavista School district as a Nutrition Director.
Penny married Charles in 1988 in Bakersfield, Ca. They were happily married for 37 Years. Penny was a member of Lamont Pentecostal, Higher Ground Church and Grace Assembly of God. Penny loved working for Higher Ground as a Deaconess and the many other jobs she took on. The church was a big part of her world, and she loved to see people coming to Jesus!
Penny is survived by her spouse Chuck; her son Darrell; her sisters Dorthy and Pepper; her brothers Buddy, Billy, Hommer, Jimmy, Johnny and Philip; her granddaughters Brittany and Priscilla; her grandsons Shawn and Johnathan; Her great granddaughters Abbigale, Arabella, Zoe, Taylor and Jayci; and her great grandson Gage.
Penny was preceded in death by her momma Ollie and daddy Reno; her sister Bobbie; and her daughter Kimberly.
