Clark Dunlap Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hubert Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Mar. 27, 2026.
Clark Leo Dunlap, age 63, of Jamestown, NY passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2026. Born July 8, 1962, he was the son of Catherine Champion and Robert Dunlap. Though he lived in NY his heart and true home were in Florida, a place he loved deeply and always carried with him. His sudden passing has left his family heartbroken as they grieve the loss of a father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be remembered for his generosity, humor and unconditional love he showed to everyone he considered family.

Clark was known for his giving nature and his unforgettable sense of humor- especially the inappropriate jokes that could make everyone laugh. He had a way of lifting spirits without even trying and never hesitated to help someone in need.

He was a devoted father to his two children, Robert Leo Dunlap whom he loved calling Tater Head, and Marianne Katherine Dunalp, his Punky Brewster and Bunko. During his years with his wife, Mary Ann Dunlap, he also embraced five children as if they had always been his own: Jack Calhoun, Gene (Tammy) Calhoun, Michelle (Wayne) Parker, Teresa (Gerald) Haglund, and Cheryl (Kevin) Lawson. Though they divorced, Clark continued to love and care for the blended family they had built together. To him, there were no "step" children or "step" grandchildren – they were simply his family, and he loved them wholeheartedly.

He adored his grandchildren, each one holding a special place in his heart. From Marianne's children – Alivia, Alana, and Braelynn, to Robert's children – Trinity, Leo, and Wyatt – and the many other grandchildren he claimed as his own through the children he helped to raise: Amber, Brandon, Austin, Destiny, Dustin, Christopher, Sean, Kimberly, Ashley, Kristina, Joseph, Aerial, Luke and Eli.

Clark worked for many years as a contractor, a trade he excelled in and took great pride in. Even when medical issues forced him to step back from full-time work, he continued to do what he could. He also loved working on cars, fixing, tinkering and helping anyone who needed a hand. His skills, dedication and willingness to lend his time and talent left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He loved music, especially country, and found joy playing his guitar. Some of his happiest moments were spent playing football on the Playstation with Robert, talking friendly banter and laughing together. Those simple moments are what meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Shawn Dunlap. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and all who loved him. His memory will live on in the laughter he shared and the love he gave.

Visitation will be held Monday March 30, 2026 from 12PM-2PM at Riccardi's Hubert Funeral Home.

Burial to follow at Lake View Cemetery.
