Claude Albert Curler Age 75 of Penn Twp. passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. Claude was born October 1, 1949 in Wilkinsburg to the late John "Jack" and Louise (Bell) Curler. In additon to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Curler. Surviving are his wife Phyllis E.(Caldarelli) Curler; children; Angela Dietrich and her husband Tony, Chris Curler and his wife Michele and Tiffane Cayton and her husband Josef; grandchildren Anthony, Jr, Adriana, Christopher, Jr., Sophie, Isabelle, Gabriel, Harper and Emily.
Claude honorably served his country as a Sergeant E-5 in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War as a Mortar Gunner in 2nd Battalion (Mechanized), 8th Infantry, 4th Infantry Division near Pleiku. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for distinguished and exceptionally meritorious service and leadership. Claude was known for his bravery, endurance, and unwavering commitment to his loved ones.
With a calm, cool, and collected demeanor, he was a wise and steady prescence in the lives of many. He enjoyed relaxing in his recliner while watching Jeopardy, The Voice, and especially war movies. A thoughtful man who appreciated life's quieter moments, he found joy in working on jigsaw puzzzles and tackling challenging crossword puzzles. Claude's memory will live on through the countless lives he touched with his humor, wisdom, and enduring spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Rest in peace, Claude. Your legacy of strength, leadership, and courage will never be forgotten.
Family and friends will be received at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747), on Thursday, March 13th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where a blessing service will be held on Friday, March 14th at 1 PM.
