Claude Michael Janis went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday the 7th of September 2024 at the age of 52, as a result of a rare illness.
To the citizens of upstate South Carolina, he was affectionately known as "Mr. Buggables" and as the best in the business at pest control for over 31 years. Together with the love of his life, Jeannieann "Mrs. Buggables" (née Langston), they owned and operated Buggables Termite and Pest Solutions, LLC. Michael was recognized as the #1 pest control technician in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida, and served as the president of the South Carolina Pest Control Association. He was known for his servant's heart, and would regularly go out of his way to help his customers, friends, family, and neighbors.
To those that knew him best, he followed in the finest traditions of the bards of old. A huge music fan, Michael loved to play the drums and the guitar, and to compose poetry, much of it dedicated to expressing his tremendous love of his wife. Three times he won contests sponsored by the International Library of Poetry (poetry.com), resulting in his poems being featured as the opening poem in a volume of Twilight Musings ("Love Is More Than Just a Word," 2005), and two volumes of Timeless Voices ("The Pain Deep Within," 2006 and "The Way I See You," 2006).
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Jeanieann; a son, Dustin (and his wife Hannah); three daughters, Unarebecca, Porshia (and her husband Andrew), and Brianna; 8 grandchildren (and one on the way); father, Daniel; two brothers Jon and Steven; a sister Dana; longtime family friend, Rachell; close family friend, Jaska; and longtime caretaker, Alan
He was preceded in death by his mother, Claudia, and his grandson, Maverick.
