Claude McKinley Moody, 80, of Pecos, Texas, passed away on September 7, 2025. He is fondly remembered as “the man who walked his dog” around his neighborhood.
Claude was born in Balmorhea, Texas, to Jack and Cora Moody and moved to Pecos when he was 4 years old. He graduated from Pecos High School and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He later worked as a Master Electrician at the Mi Vida Gas Plant near Barstow, Texas, until his retirement.
Claude was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elaine Moody; his parents, Jack and Cora Moody; and his brother, John Roger Moody.
He is survived by his three children, Brenda Weatherford (Neal), Melissa Moody, and William Moody (Lisa); grandchildren Drew (Niki), Cade (Leo), Kinsey, Makala, Marley, and Lincoln; and great-grandchildren Grace, Corbin, Cylas, Hope, and Camden. He is also survived by his sister, Reita Prewit Bates (Pete), and his brother, Jackson Moody (Marilyn), as well as many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Kinley dearly.
The family will be holding a gathering on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm at Red Bluff Water District on 111 W. 2nd St. Pecos, Texas 79772
