Claude Henriette Schelbaum

Claude Henriette Schelbaum, 92, of Lawrence Township, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the Lawrence Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Born in Nice, France, Claude immigrated to the United States in 1956, where she lived until returning to France in 1959. She later moved back to the United States in 1965 setteling in Kew Garden, Queens NY until 1996 then came to Central Jersey to be closer to family and ended up living in Lawrence Twp as of 2010.

Claude retired in 2003 after more than 35 years of service as an assistant manager at the Custom Shop in New York, NY.

A lover of the arts, Claude shared a deep appreciation for opera and classical music with her late husband, Raoul. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was affectionately known as "everyone's favorite French grandmother."

Daughter of the late Sabitai and Gabrielle (Fossat) Camhi and wife of the late Raoul Schelbaum, she is survived by her children, Marc and Tatiana Schelbaum, and Corinne and Leonardo Roschko; her sister, Michelle Marronneau; her brother, Pierre Camhi; her grandchildren, Eva Schelbaum, Nikolai Roschko, Alexandra Lukianov, Isabelle Schelbaum, and Aleksei Roschko; and her great-grandchildren, Angelina, Nicholas, and Vincenzo Lukianov.

A visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Mather-Hodge Funeral Home, 40 Vandeventer Avenue, Princeton.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
