Claude Smoak Obituary

Claude Austin "Smokey" Smoak, 88, husband of the late Loretta Threatt Smoak, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at his home.
Born in Orangeburg, SC, a son of the late Edgar Counts Smoak and the late Lillian Hoffman Smoak, he was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed driving, various sports, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force and was a former sales associate for Heffner Tire. He ultimately retired as a driver for Hertz. He was a member of Welcome Baptist Church in Greenville.
He is survived by a son, Michael Smoak (Sabrina) of Piedmont; a daughter Kimberly Smoak (Patricia McIntire) of Tallahassee, FL; and grandchildren, Corie Smoak (Eleanor), Michaela Smoak, McKenzie Smoak, and Reghan Smoak.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by four brothers; and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Welcome Baptist Church, 2730 Anderson Road, Greenville, SC 29611.
