Claudette S. Bisson, 83, of Sanford passed away peacefully on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
She was born on February 12, 1940, to the late Donat and Jeanne (Dube) Desrosiers in Sinclair, ME. The family settled in Biddeford where she attended local schools including St. Joseph's School.
Claudette was employed at various local jobs while raising 8 children with her husband Bob Bisson, and eventually moved to Sanford where she has resided for nearly 30 years.
She was a devout catholic and her faith in God was the center of her life. She was a communicant of St. Therese Parish, Holy Family Church. She also had volunteered for quite some time at the Concerned Separated Divorced Christians support group in Saco and was involved in her church prison ministry.
Claudette enjoyed family gatherings and always had a positive outlook on life. She was fun and encouraging, had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and always had a warm hug waiting for her loved ones.
She is predeceased by her daughter Monique Downs, her brother Norman Desrosiers, and her sisters Jeannine Poisson and Edwina Poisson.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Bob Bisson, her children Mark Lemieux (Judy) of Rumford, Tresa Dunham of Waterboro, Karl Lemieux (Sally) of Sanford, Danny Lemieux (Renee) of Parsonsfield, David Lemieux (Leigh) of Waterboro, Starr Putala of Waycross, GA, David Bisson (Julia) of Sanford, and 36 grand, great grand and great great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, March 22, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Carll- Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 23 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, 66 North Ave. Sanford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Biddeford.
Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
