MRS. CLAUDIA BELL LEWIS MCNAIR was born on Tuesday, January 11, 1944, in Dearing, GA. She is the daughter of both the late Eunice Brown Lewis and Quillie Lewis. On Friday, December 27, 2024, our dear loved one, Claudia gave up all the fight within her and succumbed to death while at her residence. "Dear Lord, we come before you with heavy hearts and ask that you comfort us as we mourn the loss of our mother. Help us to find peace in the knowledge that she is now in your loving embrace, and that we will one day be reunited with her in Heaven."
Claudia had love for everyone. She never ever met a stranger or turned a soul away from her home. She was always giving out encouraging words of wisdom and would give you her last dollar if need be. Always keeping a smile upon her face, Claudia was a beacon of light in the darkest room. Be it a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, or just an all-around devoted family member, she possessed a mighty love for family and dear friends. Claudia truly loved her grands. Not only were they her 'heart'; they were the "apple/s of her eye/s', and she wouldn't mind going-to-war with you regarding them. Claudia was always surrounded by family especially her children or grandchildren and there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for them. She believed in togetherness.
During her time in the workforce, Claudia was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for over four decades. With the many certificates of recognition and plaques, her work speaks for itself. She thoroughly enjoyed working as a CNA and wasn't ready to yet retire until her family members put pressure on her to do so. It was a difficult decision for her to make, but she understood the concerns regarding her family, and felt that it was time to retire and take care of herself. So, she retired from the medical field in 2021.
Claudia enjoyed following the "Queendom of Motivators" which is a non-profit organization with her daughter, Shondra Lewis as the President. Claudia felt that an organization brings love and unity into the community, and she was the 'encourager' and 'voice of reason' for the organization. She never missed an event that Queendom of Motivators held until her health started to decline in 2024. Her words "If I'm not there physically, I'm there in spirit."
During her spare time, Claudia enjoyed giving a listening ear to her favorite gospel groups: "The Canton Spirituals", "The Williams Brothers" or her favorite gospel artists: Lee Williams or Troy Ramey. There were many times when she was listening to gospel music, the family would gather around her and just have church.
Our loved one, Claudia Bell Lewis McNair motto in life was to treat people good, so that goodness will come to you; never look down on anyone; if you can help somebody, then help them and do it from the heart; always keep God first because you cannot make it without Him-He is the source; last but not least, stay prayed up and not played up!
In addition to her parents, our belove Claudia Bell Lewis McNair was preceded in death by her husband, Willie "Sampson" McNair; two grandchildren, Juwan Tucker and Quiltavious McGahee; two sisters, Eva Pearl Johnson and Sarah Hill; three brothers, Johnnie Lewis, Sammie Lewis and Donald Lewis; one god-daughter, LaTrenda Jackson. Loved ones left to cherish her memory and the most precious times of yesterday: four loving daughters, Sandra Lewis, Angela Lee, Pamela Lee and Shondra Lewis; four loving sons, Melvin (Angela) Lewis, Rickey Lee (Linda), Derrick Lee and Quilton Lee; thirteen grandchildren, Carlandos Lewis, Octavious Lee, Jamila Lewis, Sha'Quandra Lewis, Tavis Walton, Claudarius Lewis, Shanecia Paschal, Cameron White, Khadijah Tucker, Jalen Tucker, Tyler Crenshaw, Ja'Nya Mathis and Ja'Nyla Grant; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a god-sister, Eleanor Brinkley; five god-children, Diane Wiley, Michele Farmer, Stanley Johnson, Willie Williams and Anthony Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many very special friends.
