Claudie B. Langley, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in Orlando, Florida, on January 26, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on May 21, 1946, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, one of 13 children born to his late parents, John David and Ida Mae (Kornagay) Langley.
Claudie touched many lives with his kind and loving heart, always greeting others with a warm smile. For 34 years, Claudie worked as a dedicated mechanical maintenance man at Camp Lejeune military base, where he built a reputation as a reliable and skilled worker. He retired in 1996, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Claudie was known for his love of travel, having recently enjoyed a trip to Las Vegas. Claudie's passions extended to fishing and cooking, where he particularly excelled at crafting his famous stews. These skills not only brought him joy but also created cherished memories for those lucky enough to gather around his table.
He is survived by and deeply missed after all these years by his beloved wife, Brenda Langley, who was a pillar of support throughout their life together. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind a loving family: his son, Sylester Humphrey, and daughter-in-law, Lynn; grandsons, Tevin Humphrey, and Daron Humphrey and his wife, DeAsia; and great-grandson, Jahmir Humphrey. Claudie is also remembered fondly by his siblings, Rebecca Jean Ford, Johnnie Lee Langley, Margie Langley, Annie Mae Mansion-McCoy and her husband, Gary, Curtis Langley and his wife, Jackie, Viola Langley, and Arlene Jenkins and her husband, Robin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Eustis, Willie, James, Charles, and Michael Ray Langley. Their memories will forever live on in the hearts of his surviving family.
A visitation will be held on February 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home - East Orlando Chapel, 895 S Goldenrod Rd, Orlando, FL 32822.
Interment will follow the funeral services at Taft Memorial Cemetery, Orlando, FL.
Claudie B. Langley's legacy of kindness, family devotion, and joy for life will continue to inspire all who knew him. He leaves behind a world touched by his gentle spirit and the countless memories he created with those he loved. Rest in peace, dear Claudie; you will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
