Mark Langley Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Legacy Funeral Center - Scott Chapel on Mar. 15, 2026.
Mark Colin Langley, age 60 of Sellersburg, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of memories shaped by hard work, laughter, and a deep love for family and the outdoors.
Mark devoted more than 40 years to the printing industry, working as a press operator with remarkable dedication to his craft. For over 21 years, he was a valued member of the team at Superior Print. Known to many as "Marky," he took great pride in his work and was famously particular about every detail. If a job wasn't done just right, it went straight into the trash and he would start again, carefully and meticulously ensuring that every piece met his personal standard of perfection. His strong work ethic and pride in his trade were hallmarks of the man he was.
Outside of work, Mark was happiest embracing the simple pleasures of life. He loved settling in for a good Western movie (with a hundred pauses). An avid gun collector and true outdoorsman, he found joy in fishing, hunting, camping trips with family, and spending time surrounded by the beauty of nature. One of his favorite traditions was building a fire in the old Buck Stove. Known affectionately as the "Keeper of the Flame," Mark could get a fire roaring better than anyone, keeping it glowing long into the night. It was a skill he was proud to pass down to his beloved grandson, Sawyer.
Mark's warm spirit and quick wit made him unforgettable to those who knew him. He was a kind soul and the undisputed king of Dad jokes, always ready with a laugh or a playful quip to brighten someone's day. Above all else, Mark was a devoted family man. He was a wonderful and loving father to his daughter, Tara, and made it his life's mission to ensure his "Kid" always felt loved, protected, and supported. Christmas time in Mark's home was nothing short of magical. The lights, the laughter, and the warmth of the season seemed to last longer there, thanks to the joy he poured into every holiday tradition. He could always be found jamming to Christmas Music, as loudly as possible, on 106.9 beginning on November 1st, of course!
Mark was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eileen Blanch Williams, Francis Henry Williams, Audrey May Langley, and Horace Wilfred Langley; as well as his beloved dog, Koda, a loyal little min-pin who surely greeted him with kisses, air bites, and joyful tail wags upon his entrance into Glory!
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Tara Ashley (Langley) King and her husband, Jeremy; his loving parents, Colin G. & Janet Elaine (Williams) Langley; his brother, Alan Langley; his precious grandson, Sawyer Luke King; and his lifelong best friends & road trip and concert buddies, Jeral Murry & Eric Wolfe; his sweet kitty, Hickory Dickory Dock; a niece, Nicole Elaine Langley; nephews, Nicholas Alan & Neal Anthony Langley; along with many extended family members and friends who will forever remember his steady presence, generous heart, and unmistakable sense of humor.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Legacy Funeral Center, Scott Chapel (921 Main Street in Jeffersonville), with Pastor Toby Jenkins officiating. Friends and family may visit from 4-8 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the funeral home.
Though Mark's fire may no longer glow beside us, the warmth he created in the hearts of those who loved him will continue to burn brightly for generations to come.
***The Family asks that everyone wear GREEN, Mark's favorite color, to celebrate & honor his wonderful life!
