Clay Crouch Obituary

Clay Rod Crouch Sr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma passed away peacefully on March 15, 2026.

He is survived by his wife, Aurora Crouch; his daughter, Rosanna Moore (James); his grandchildren, Shayla Scudder and Richard Scudder (Deserae); and his great-grandchildren, Aleeyah Williams, Ava Williams, Paxton Glidden, Rylee Scudder, and Declan Scudder. He was preceded in death by his son, Clay Crouch Jr., and his parents, Carson Crouch and Gladys Heinken.

Clay was born on December 19, 1945, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He graduated from Lawton High School in 1964 and joined the U.S. Navy, where he served as a Gunner's Mate on the USS Shangri-LA at Mayport, Florida. In 1965, he married his wife, Aurora, and together they started their family. Their daughter, Rosanna Marie, was born on March 13, 1966 and their son, Clay Rod Jr., was born on January 4, 1967.

Clay was a talented singer and guitarist who was offered an opportunity with a recording label in Nashville, Tennessee, which he declined in order to stay with his family. He later joined General Motors and worked on the assembly line, and retired after more than 25 years of service.

He loved spending time with family and friends by singing, playing the guitar, watching movies, telling jokes, grilling, sharing stories, and playing board games. He was a man of routine who started each morning with a cup of coffee and a page from his Jesus Calling devotional.

In his lifetime, Clay was defined by his love and devotion towards his family, friends, and God. Clay will be deeply missed by all who knew him. To know him, was to love him.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on March 25. Flowers and condolences may be sent to Resthaven Cemetery, 500 SW 104th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73139.
