On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Clay B. “Pat” Jarvis, Jr., a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully at the age of 87. Pat was a faithful member of Second Chance Baptist Church and retired from Honeywell International Inc. His dedication extended beyond his career; he honorably served in the Naval Reserve and was a life member of the Southside Virginia Emergency Crew in Petersburg. Preceded in death by his parents, Clay B. Jarvis, Sr. and Pansy Renn Jarvis, as well as his grandson, Christopher B. Jarvis, Pat’s memory will be carried forward by his loving wife of 67 years, Shelby, his children David (Kimberly), Laurie Foster (Willie), and Brian Keith (Susan), as well as his grandchildren Jeffrey Matheny (Elaine), William Matheny, Brandon Jarvis, Owen Jarvis, Andrew Eby, and John Driver. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Jeffrey Clay Matheny, Gwen Matheny, Olivia Matheny, and Braxton Jarvis, brother, Ollie Jarvis (Kathy), sister, Della Hathaway (Gene). A funeral service to honor Pat’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 3110 Greenwood Ave, Colonial Heights, Virginia, with the Reverend David Prather and the Reverend Wayne Lowe officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Memorial Park in South Prince George, Virginia. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Home. Pat’s legacy of love, service, and dedication will be deeply missed by all who know him. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to  Southside Virginia Emergency Crew 425 Graham Road Petersburg, Virginia 23803, or to Second Chance Baptist Church 2701 County Dr, Petersburg, Virginia, 23803.
