Mr. Clay Lee Scott entered this world on June 6, 1960 as a blessing to the late Bishop Eugene Scott and Mrs. Minnie Agnes Scott in Horry County, South Carolina. Early in his life he started and maintained a relationship with Jesus Christ. During the year of 1976, Mr. Clay Lee Scott and his family relocated from Horry County, South Carolina to Mullins, South Carolina; where he attended school. He graduated from Mullins High School in 1979.

After graduation he made the selflessness decision to serve our great nation, the United States of America. He joined The United States Army in 1982, where he served until he received a A "HONORABLE DISCHARGE".

Mr. Clay Lee Scott departed this life on Friday, January 2, 2026 at MUSC Health Florence Medical Center, located at 805 Pamplico Highway, Florence, SC.

Those left to cherish his memories are - his loving wife that he has loved for over forty-seven years, Mrs. Laura Ann Scott (Marion, SC); his daughter, Mrs. Laura Tameaka (Carlile) Page Jr., (Fredericksburg, VA); two bonus daughters; Ms. Janie Godbolt (Marion, SC), Ms. Crystal Godbolt (Florence, SC); five grandson: Michael Godbolt, Marquis Godbolt, Arkeem Gause, Jamal Gause, Chris Woodberry Jr., (all of Marion, SC); two great-grandsons: Tyler Godbolt, Michael Godbolt Jr.; one great-granddaughter; Makayla Godbolt; Four sisters and two brothers: Daisy Smith (Hartford, CT), Resia Henry (Florence, SC), Lucile (Chrysanthus) Ihedioha (NC), Lyndon Scott (Mullins, SC), Mazell Robinson (Marion, SC); Rudolph Scott (Ann) (Hartford, CT); three sisters-in-law; Betty Grant (Sumter, SC) Pastors Betty (James) Reaves (Marion, SC); Wanda Cole (Charlotte, NC), and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends.

Preceding Mr. Clay Lee Scott in death: 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Eugene Scott Jr., Beady Oliver, Sarah White, Robert Jennings, Rose Lee Williamson, LeRoy Scott; Father-in-law; Henry Godbolt; Mother-in-law: Mrs. Laura McFadden Godbolt; three sisters-in-law: Janie Ree Godbolt, Henrietta Godfrey, Linda Faye Godbolt; 3 brothers-in-law: Henry Jr Godbolt, Ernest Godbolt, and Joseph Grant.

His final days were surrounded by the love of his family, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
