Clayton Lewis Davis passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 78.

Born on January 17, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, to Julia A. (Papson) and Clayton M. Davis, Clayton was the eldest of ten siblings. He was raised in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, where his deep love for music began to take root-a passion that would shape the course of his life.

A gifted musician and educator, Clayton earned his bachelor's degree in Music Education from Saint Vincent College. His musical journey led him to perform in several bands, the most notable being Blackstreet, where his talent and presence left a lasting mark. Music was not just a career for Clayton-it was his life's rhythm and joy.

Clayton was married twice and was a proud and devoted father to two children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia and Clayton; two beloved brothers, Michael Gerard and Daniel Patrick; and his first wife, Joyce Morgan.

He is survived by his daughter, Nora Elizabeth Adams, and his son, Ian (Stephanie) Clayton Davis, from his second marriage to Sarah Elizabeth Harris. He also leaves behind his loyal canine companion, Nelson, who was always by his side.

Clayton is lovingly remembered by his siblings: brothers Timothy (Helen), Bobby, and Christopher (Kim); and sisters Mary "Taffy" (Bill Keyes), Cindy, Dorothy, and Becky (Bill Cunningham).

Those who knew Clayton will remember a quiet man whose words could move hearts and whose presence was felt deeply. Family was always his anchor and his pride. His gentle strength, unwavering love, and musical brilliance made him a giant among men.

His legacy lives on through the melodies he shared, the lives he touched, and the family he cherished above all.

A celebration of Clayton's life will be held privately with close family.
