Clayton "Von" Etheridge Sr.

Clayton "Von" Etheridge, Sr., 83, a resident of Jackson, LA; passed away February 8, 2024 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Hartman Jones Funeral Home from 11:00 AM until services at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in New Zion Church cemetery.
We celebrate the life of our beloved brother, uncle, cousin, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Many can remember him as the man who always had a funny story to tell just to get a laugh or smile out of you. He will also be remembered as the man that would drop everything to be there for you in the good and bad times. He was always the one to check on the ones he loved, whether you be sick or he just hadn't seen or heard from you in a while. He was sure to make it known that he loved his family and he would always be there to take care of them. He spent his days doing what he admired most, such as spending quality time and making memories with his family, sitting outside to just simply enjoy the weather, doing mechanical work, working in his garden, in which he had no problem showing his love by sharing his freshly picked fruits and vegetables, talking politics, watching the news and watching his Sunday sermons. He had no problem showing that he was a proud man of his work and achievements. Some of which consisted of his 20 years of service as a sheriff deputy, 20 plus years as a truck driver for hydrochem, and of course his most favorable was his family. He will be missed and forever loved by many. In all things he had faced in life, difficult or not, he always kept God in the center and he would want you all to do the same.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Etheridge Jr., Gerald Etheridge, Seth Massey, Randy Brown, Tony Nunnery and Dylan DeLee.
Honorary pallbearer will be Tyson Etheridge.
