Clayton Dale Leatherwood, age 44, of Manor, Texas, passed away on April 11, 2025.
Clayton was a loving father, son, brother, and friend who lived life full-throttle and on his own terms. Born and raised in the Austin Texas area, he attended Elgin schools from 1st through 11th grade and graduated from Manor High School in 1999.
Clayton worked in hardwood flooring with Daryl's Hardwood Floors and was also a proud member of the Millwright Union. He lent his talents and toughness to Action Rigging, Diamond E, and Industrial Rigging over the years.
In his free time, Clayton could usually be found outdoors—hunting, fishing, or wrenching on trucks. Whether it was out of necessity or just because he loved it, Clayton had a deep passion for 4-wheel drive trucks that were big, loud, and built with heart. He enjoyed blasting music just as loud as his engines and had a spirit that was hard to miss.
Clayton was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jon Dahl, and his grandparents Elwood Brown, Dorothy Brown Dailey, Nan Lawrence, and Bobby Leatherwood.
He is survived by, Lacey Leatherwood; and his three children, Caitlyn, Caleb, and Colton Leatherwood, all of Manor. He also leaves behind his parents, Dale and Linda Leatherwood of Elgin; his sister, Eileen Dahl of Manor; nephews Garrett, Jacob, and Landen; and niece Avery. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunt Lanell Brown of Manor; uncle Robert Leatherwood of Bastrop; and a large extended family including Ramona Lamar (mother of his children), Linda Lamar, Michael Dean Lamar, cousins, great aunts and uncles, and many dear friends
Clayton was a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived loudly. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 17, 2025, Providence-Jones Funeral Home Chapel with a Celebration of Clayton's Life beginning at 3:00 PM.
