Cleo Estelle Barnhill

Cleo Estelle Barnhill, age 88, of Ranger, Texas, ascended to her eternal resting place on December 28, 2025. She was born on April 29, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, to James Cleo Laird and Geneva Estelle Oliver Laird. Cleo lived a life marked by devotion to her family, service to her church, and an unwavering commitment to her community.

On November 25, 1958, Cleo married the love of her life, Roy Eugene Barnhill, and together they built a loving home in Ranger, Texas. Cleo dedicated many years of her life to serving others, working at Killingsworth Funeral Home and later at Edwards Funeral Home, where her compassion for families in their time of need shone brightly.

A cherished member of the United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, Cleo served as the church secretary for over 50 years, embodying the spirit of service and leadership. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and her contributions to the church community will be deeply missed.

Cleo was known for her immaculate home and her beautifully manicured lawn, which she tended to with love and meticulous care. She was a nurturing and supportive presence in the lives of those around her, leaving a legacy of love and kindness.

Cleo will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Susan Rogers, and her husband, Robert. She is survived by five sisters: Joyce Franklin and her husband Gary, Marie Jenkins and her husband Willard, Esther Wilkins, Judy Coggins, and Aniece Brumit, as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews who cherished their time with her.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy; and two brothers and two sisters, who welcomed her with open arms in eternal life.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the United Pentecostal Church in Ranger, with Brother Gerald Gunstanson officiating. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Family and friends will gather to pay their respects and celebrate Cleo's life at this heartfelt memorial service. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, where she will continue to rest in peace among the beauty of nature.

Cleo Estelle Barnhill's legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as a pillar of strength and grace in her family and community.
