Cleo B. DeBusschere, 87, of Rock Island, passed away, July 24, 2024, at St. Anthony’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Island.
Per the family’s wishes, there are no services to be held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family.
Cleo was born on January 11, 1937, in Rock Island, the daughter of Bella Smith. She married John “Jack” E. DeBusschere on June 30, 1962, in Rock Island, IL. He preceded her on December 8, 1987. Cleo liked to gamble, play bingo, and play card games, especially euchre. She was a member of the Eagles Club in Rock Island and a member of the Belgian American Brotherhood Club.
Survivors include her sons, Bruce (Karla) Johnston, John “Ed” DeBusschere Jr., Robert DeBusschere; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack; son Bryan Means; siblings Sarah “Sally” Bishop, Darlene Lowe, Clarence Sands, Richard Smith, and Harold Sands.
