Cleo M. Eversgerd, age 101, of Trenton, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 1, 2025, at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was born September 15, 1924, in Bartelso, the daughter of the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Becker) Gebke.

On May 8, 1946, Cleo married Gregory Eversgerd, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Bartelso. They shared 39 years together until his passing on April 25, 1985.

Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gregory; her granddaughter, Jacquie (Ray) Reiser; her siblings, Cornelius (Helen) Gebke, Norbert (Clara) Gebke, Larry (Bernice) Gebke, Bernard (Rita) Gebke, Jr., Tom Gebke, Betty (Alphonse) Eversgerd, Rosemary (Stanley) Goewert, Dolores (Ted) Kohnen, Patricia (Joe) Haake, and Aggie (Tony) Benhoff; brothers-in-law, Arnold Michels, Paul Jansen, and Robert Kohrmann; and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from the Eversgerd family.

She is survived by her loving children, Linda (Phil) Mueller of Trenton and Diana (Rich Lanter) Duke of Steeleville, MO; grandchildren, Cheri (Bobby) Schmitt, Doug (Carrie) Mueller, Deanna Duke, Christopher (Michelle) Duke, and Jennifer (Tim) Schwierjohn; great-grandchildren, Taylor (Karlee) and Mallory Schmitt, Chandler and Haiden Mueller, Bryce Luechtefeld, Christen and Claudia Duke, Lane Schwierjohn, and Gabrielle (Steven) Craig and Greg Reiser; and great-great-grandchildren, Heather, Raegan, Kennedy, and Chloe Craig and was highly anticipating the birth of her fifth great-great-grandchild, Rhett Schmitt. Cleo is also survived by her sisters, Sis Michels of Germantown, Margie Jansen of Bartelso, and Blanche Kohrmann of Bartelso; and many nieces and nephews.

For 25 years, Cleo devoted herself to her work at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Belleville. She was a faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton and the Altar Sodality, where she generously served on the kitchen committee. A proud and loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan, she enjoyed bingo, playing cards, and the simple joy of being surrounded by family.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Trenton with Fr. George Zieba presiding and Deacon Tom Ritzheimer assisting. Private interment will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery in Germantown.

In lieu of flowers, plants, or other gifts, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or St. Mary's Catholic Church and will be received at the church or by mail at Moss Funeral Home, 105 S. Main St., Trenton, IL 62293, who is serving the family.
