Cleon worked in the oilfield and then at the Wichita Falls State Hospital until his retirement. Cleon was an accomplished pianist and was even called up on the stage when Jerry Lee Lewis came to Wichita Falls.  He enjoyed going to area jamborees.  He loved working on houses and was very meticulous with his work.  He also loved animals, however, the one he loved the most was his wife, Carol.  He took very good care of her and her mother, Hazel.  Cleon was a Baptist.
