Cleotes Crowder Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service on Dec. 23, 2025.
Cleotes Crowder of Weaverville, NC, was born on October 27, 1934, and peacefully entered into rest with his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 22, 2025. Cleotes was the son of the late Lesley Crowder and Marie Bullman.

He was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church and was baptized on December 27, 1981. Affectionately known as "Babe" by family and friends, he was the youngest son in his family. Babe farmed and gardened throughout his life, while also working in construction, janitorial services, flooring, truck driving (delivery services), cutting and hauling lumber, as well as all the mechanical work that came along with keeping things running. Cleotes was respected for his strong work ethic and his unwavering willingness to assist others in need.

He is survived by his wife of over 68 years, Inez Ball Crowder; his sons, Donald (Wanda) and David (Lisa) Crowder; his sisters, Janie Revis and Judy Wyatt; grandchildren Nathan, Nicholas, Bridgett, Amanda, and Ella Crowder; as well as three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind many cherished nephews and nieces.

The family will receive family and friends from 1-2pm, Saturday December 27, 2025 at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral & Cremation Service, Mars Hill, NC. A funeral will be held at 2pm, following the visitation, at the funeral home. Reverend Bob Belford will officiate. Burial will follow at Locust Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Weaverville, NC. Roland, Jim, Lawrence, Edwin, and Nicholas Crowder, and Steven Ball will serve as pallbearers.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of The Greens of Weaverville, whose compassionate care supported Cleotes over the past three years. May God bless you.
