Cleotilde Barba Sanchez

Cleotilde Barba Sanchez 91, of Lubbock, TX passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026, surrounded by all her loved ones. She was born on May 8, 1934 in Weslaco, TX to Manuel Barba Sr and Simona Rodriguez Barba of Santa Rosa, TX.

She married Andres Morales Sanchez Sr on May 24, 1947 in Edinburg, TX.

Cleotilde loved to garden, sew, go to the local Farmers Markets, attend the annual Holiday Happening, travel to the Rio Grande Valley, Austin, Mexico, her weekend get-aways to New Mexico and take the scenic routes to Cone, TX to see the beautiful cotton fields and the famous Red Barn. She was a homemaker for many years and then evidentially joined the workforce at Ethan Allen Concord House/John L Roberts Interior Design for 25 years in Lubbock TX. She retired in 2010.

She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Grandmother, Great-Great-Great-Grandmother, and Mother-in-law, who will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel Sr and Simona R. Barba, her grandfather, Apa Luis Barba, two sisters Maria Eliena Barba, Alicia Barba, two infant half-brothers Samuel Barba and Baldermar Barba; one half-brother Baldemar D Barba. Her Brother, Manuel R Barba Jr of Elsa TX; halfbrothers, Jesus Barba and Luis Barba both of Corpus Chrisi TX. And a Grandson, Antonio Martinez of Lubbock TX.

She is survived by three sisters, Maclovia B. Orozco, Beatrice B. Ramirez and Estella B. Stillman all from Elsa, TX. Half-brothers, Samuel Barba of Hereford TX, Guadalupe Barba, Manuel D. "Nene" Barba Jr both from Elsa TX and Consuelo Jimenez of Amarillo, TX

She is also survived by her 14 children.

Andres and Cleotilde had many Ninos in their life.... They both created a beautiful family. They blessed us with 6 Generations of 32 Grandchildren, 54 Great Grandchildren, 30 Great Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Great Grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Tenorio, Joe Ruiz III, Franciso Ruiz, Chris Gonzales, Darin Meitler and Wesley Meitler.

Rosary will be held 7pm Tuesday March 10, 2026 and Funeral Mass will be at 11am Wednesday March 11, 2026. Both at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Ralls, TX. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco, TX on Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 11am.

The Family would like to thank Dr. Piyush Mittal and his staff for always caring for our mother. Also, for the phenomenal care that our mother received at Crown Point Rehabilitation, Covenant Cardiac ICU and the wonderful care from the Palliative Care Unit, especially from Sandra Soliz, MSN, RN, FNP.

The pain of losing our parents is the greatest we ever felt, but their Love and Faith that they taught us will never ever end.
