Cletus Jerome Magsamen

 

Cletus J. Magsamen, 88, of Duluth, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday October 12, 2022.  He was born in Petersburg, NE on August 3, 1934, to Jerome and Teresa Magsamen.  Cletus was a 22-year Air Force Veteran who met his wife and married her on May 16, 1959, in Oslo, Norway.  He was an instructor at WITC in Superior for 15 years.  Cletus was a long-standing member of St. Benedict's Catholic Church.  He enjoyed restoring John Deere tractors, tinkering on his Saab, building model airplanes farming, being outdoors, and he was an expert on Cryogenics and Facility Systems.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Ellen, daughter Nina Magsamen, son Erik (Erica) Magsamen and grandchildren Cameron, Nolan, and Maya Magsamen.

Visitation will be held on Friday October 28, 2022, from 5PM to 7PM with a 6:30PM Rosary Service in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E. 2nd St. Duluth, MN 55805.  Visitation will continue Saturday October 29, 2022, from 10AM until the 11AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 1419 St. Benedict St. Duluth, MN 55811.  Military Honors will be Accorded by the Duluth Honor Guard.  Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park.
