Clifford Claxton Griffith

Graveside services for Clifford Griffith, 89, of Gilmer, Texas, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Cherokee Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm, before the service, at McWhorter Funeral Home.

Clifford was born on October 13, 1936, in Elkhart, Texas, to Clarence and Thelma Howell Griffith and passed from this life on January 23, 2026, in Gilmer, Texas.

Clifford was a car salesman and worked at Lone Star Steel for many years before his retirement.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Billy Ray "Doc" Griffith, Wendy West, Russell Griffith, and his wife, Elishia, and Rick Griffith and his wife, Staci; grandchildren, Stephen Griffith, Stephenie Griffith, Chance Ross, Demi West, Seth Griffith, Jordan Misenheimer, Eric Griffith, Derek Griffith, Trinity Rodden, Ryan Griffith, Riley Griffith, and Randy Griffith; and numerous great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Doris Griffith Green Hill, Flora Lee Boykin, Charles Henry Griffith, Billy Franklin Griffith, Harold Dean Griffith, and Benny Ray Griffith.

Pallbearers will be Eric Griffith, Chance Ross, Ryan Griffith, Riley Griffith, Randy Griffith, Stephen Griffith, and Seth Griffith.
