Clifford Aaron Hamilton, 87, of Reidsville, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 21, 2026, at Burton Memorial Missionary Church, with Rev. Mike Kilgore and Deacon Bobby Mabe officiating. Burial will follow at Burton Memorial Missionary Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Cliff was born in Wake County to the late Johnie Frank Hamilton Sr. and Ellen Frances Wilson Hamilton. He served his country in the United States Navy and the National Guard. He loved to work in the garden and fish, and enjoyed going to the coast whenever he got the chance. When he was younger, he also liked to hunt and play a little golf. He loved his wife and was devoted to his family. He loved working with his hands. He enjoyed building things and working with wood. He could make just about anything.
He was a faithful member of Burton Memorial Missionary Church and served there in many ways. He was part of the Baptist Men’s group, served as a deacon, and was always willing to help fix anything that needed attention around the church. He took pride in helping take care of it. Most importantly, Cliff loved the Lord, and he lived that out every day.
In addition to his parents, Cliff was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Linda Gail Shoemaker Hamilton; daughter, Wanda Hamilton Strader; brother, Johnny Hamilton Jr. (Hazel d.); sisters, Mable Hicks (Ray d.) and Geraldine Hamilton Gordon (Alvin); and sister, Francis Patton (Jerry d.).
Cliff is survived by his son, Clifford “Anthony” Hamilton; daughter, Sandra Hamilton Moore (Joe); grandchildren, Michael Strader (Olivia), Brandon Strader (Natalie), James Hamilton (Tabatha), and Jessica Raymond (Chris); 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his brothers, Robert Hamilton (Brenda d.), Jackie Hamilton (Shirley d.), and Tommy Hamilton; and sisters, Louise Jarrett (Page d.) and Joyce Vernon (Leroy d.), along with a large and loving group of extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Ancora Compassionate Care, P.O. Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.
