Clifford Hinckley Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sconiers Funeral Home - Columbus on Dec. 31, 2025.
Clifford Hinckley, 63, of Columbus, GA passed Sunday, December 28, 2025, in Columbus after his battle with Parkinson's disease. Born to the late Burnadine Curtis Hinckley and Richard Hinckley, Clifford distinguished himself as a natural leader throughout his many years in cab and limousine services, operating his own company, "Cliff's Limos," before relocating south and continuing his work with a local cab company until illness intervened.

Clifford's quick wit and smart mouth made him the life of any room, always ready with a joke and a laugh, but those who knew him best understood the kindness and loyalty behind the humor. He adored his stepdaughter, Levidia Lewis, from the moment she was born and was a devoted grandfather, great grandfather, and beloved uncle.

Above all else, Clifford was devoted to his wife and best friend, Theopia Laverne Hinckley. They were married on February 19, 1988, after a friendship that began when Clifford was a neighbor and babysitter. For over 37 years, he was her constant companion and personal chauffeur, serving her in everything she wanted or desired. Their partnership was one that many admired - they did everything together and their love for one another was evident to all who knew them.

Clifford is survived by his beloved wife, Theopia Laverne Hinckley of Columbus, Georgia; his sons, Richard Hinckley and Daniel Hinckley; his stepdaughter, Levidia Lewis; his brother, George Hinckley and wife Jennifer; granddaughters Shunntasia Linson and Tiniece Thomas; great-grandchildren Aubrie Spencer, Amarri Spencer, Rich Montgomery, Makeda Montgomery, Kashton Roberts, and Kashmir Roberts; along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Burnadine Curtis Hinckley; his father, Richard Hinckley; nieces Linda Hinckley and Michelle Hinckley; and great-grandson, Kashton Roberts.
