Clifford J. Kessen, 99, of Union, Kentucky, died Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Hospice of St. Elizabeth, Edgewood.
Clifford was born on September 14, 1925, in Covington, Kentucky to the late Lee and Margaret (Wildemeyer) Kessen. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Asiatic Pacific Theater of Operations, receiving a Bronze Star w/Oak Leaf Cluster.
He retired as a Logistics Co-Ordinator for the Northern Pacific Railroad and was a member of St. Timothy Church, Union. Clifford was also a member of the American Legion Post # 4, Florence, the Railroad Retirees Club, the Sightseers of St. Timothy Church, the R.C. Durr YMCA, Burlington, and the St. Timothy Senior Adult Group.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Margaret Kessen; a brother, Jack Lee Kessen; and a son in law, Billy Patrick.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Linneman) Kessen; daughters, Diana Patrick and Denise (Pete) Lahni; sons, Dennis Kessen, Dale (Laura) Pace and David (Angie) Pace; grandchildren, Janson Wade, Justin Wade, Austin Kessen, Catherine Kessen, Chris Renner, Michale Lahni, Justin Pace, Jacob Pace, Kelsey Pollak, Anne Clark, and Abby Montague; and many great grandchildren.
Visitation is 9:00 am to 10:00 am, Monday, August 25, 2025, at St. Timothy Church, Union, Kentucky. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 am at the church. Interment, with Military Honors, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, Kentucky. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Erlanger is serving the family.
