Johanna (Reed) Kiser, a beloved figure in her community and devoted mother, passed away on November 10, 2025, at Highlandsprings of Fort Thomas. Born on August 22, 1938, in Covington, Kentucky, Johanna lived a life full of purpose, passion, and unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
As the Daycare Director for the Community Action Commission, Johanna dedicated herself to nurturing the youngest members of her community. Her commitment extended beyond her role; she was instrumental in founding the Community Action Commission across northern Kentucky, leaving a legacy that enriched countless lives.
Johanna was also deeply rooted in her faith as a member of St. Henry Church in Elsmere. Her spirituality guided her principles and laid the foundation for her loving approach to life and family.
A musician at heart, Johanna played the saxophone. Her love for music was matched only by her enthusiasm for bowling, where she cherished the camaraderie and competition with friends and family alike.
Johanna’s greatest pride was her family, which she loved profoundly. She is survived by daughters, Jennifer (Brian) Ledenican and Mary Ann (Kennon) Kelly and sons, Robert R. (Debbie) Kiser, William I. (Christy) Kiser, and John Andrew (Brittany) Kiser. In total, Johanna leaves behind a remarkable lineage of 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren who will carry on her spirit of love and kindness.
Johanna is reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Robert Irvin Kiser, and her dear siblings John Reed and Richard Reed. She was also predeceased by her father, John Foster Reed, and her mother, Grace Johnson Reed.
Her memory will be honored in a Graveside Service on November 15, 2025, at 9:30 am at Independence Cemetery in Independence, Kentucky. Johanna Kiser will be missed deeply but remembered for her unwavering love for her family and community.
